Yippee Skippy!

NEWBIES!!....ones's that I actually like that is! The girl at the top is largely inspired by one of my favourite artists Kali Fontecchio.

Some of these, Margaret in particular, turned out muddy and pooey since I was experimenting a lot, but I still like them so I'll probably redraw them.

I want to do a kids book some day. I have fragments of ideas and random characters but nothing solid. I really need to just focus, but I'm not too concerned, I have the tendancy to be hit by an idea that I love and pull something huge out of my but in one shot. Stressful as that may be, it seems to work.

Digital Painting Practice

K, so I'm still quite rust at digital painting....but I'm improving and that's what really counts. I've come across something very inspirational; The Chiu Stream!! Watch it and have a jam with Bobby Chiu and hundreds of viewers.

Back to School

This is a rough sketch of what I am working on for an entry in the "Sketch to Win" contest at

I want to put a few more critters in the desk and maybe put in a shadow of another desk on the left hand side to fill in some of that empty space.

What do you guys think? Any ideas?

Well he's Certainly not a Negatron

That's Right, it's the BEATLES!

There's a lot of Beatle mania going on right now and I thought I'd jump on board.

If you haven't seen this already, you should, it's beautiful:

Happy (belated) Birthday Heather!

No it Snot

I just drew this booger guy up in less than an hour. I really like the manilla coloured  paper rather than the usual boring old white. I wish I had a sketchbook of it but they're pretty expensive.

This one actually has neon pink nipples but for some reason my scanner wouldn't pick it up.

Hey folks!

I've been a busy bee lately; finishing the last lag of school, creating artworks for donation to the Alternator Gallery, commissions, and painting. I will try and keep you all updated as much as possible.

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all who visit my site. New comers please feel welcome to leave comments :)

Yay for LDW!

I really enjoy Life Drawing Workshop. I have the freedom to use the poses for anything I want and I'm encouraged to experiment with new mediums. I really like the combination of gouache and water colour I used today. I think it's important to remember that I am a cartoonist above all and now that I have a solid understanding of anatomy to use it to benefit my cartoons. This is a concept that I didn't realize in earlier life drawing classes and it made things difficult for me.

Gouache n' Stuff

These are some of my first attempts with guache. I'm really stoked on them!!

Each of the pieces took 30 minutes. I did them in my Life Drawing class. I wanted to make class a little more interesting this week because for some reason I wasn't really in the mood (which is rare), so I decided to try a new medium. The school has a few small tubes of limited colors buried in the bottom of the very small art supplies drawer and I dug them out and used them all class. At this rate I think the school is going to need to purchase some more paint!

What do you guys think?

ps. I hate guns but the model was holding one so I tried to incorperate it.

pps. sorry for the quality, they're just photographs.
